Global TV was founded in 2002 and is owned by Media Nusantara Citra, the media company that also has a RCTI and TPI.
This station was originally established to merelay event MTV Asia, which had previously direlay through antv, but also on the growth of broadcast events with non-MTV 8 hours for the division of Global TV and 8 hours for MTV
